Are Google Reviews Trustworthy?
Updated: Apr 19, 2019
In this day and age we make our purchases based on reviews. As a business owner I am approached frequently by marketing firms offering mass production of 5 star Google reviews. In fact, they guarantee nothing but 5 stars through a filter software program, which clients can't detect. Don't you ever wonder why everyone Google ranking is so high? Can we trust Google reviews?
At Sorensen, we have chosen to not let marketing firms manipulate our reviews. But rather let them grow organically.
How can you tell reviews have been bought or manipulated?
Answer: Are the reviews gathered all at once or in a suspicious time frame(s)? Also, on manipulated reviews owner responses are usually delayed by a few weeks or even months. Reviews should be spread out and consistent with immediate owner reponses.
Why won't Google stop this practice? Of course they know it's going on. Could money be involved? Or do they want everyone to be a winner?
Bottom line, until Google does something about this you need to carefully screen your Google reviews for manipulation.
